John Kermit Hill is a Grayson County native and member of the Sherman High School Class of 1980. After graduating from Grayson College in 1982 with an A.A. in Pre-Law, he went on to The University of Texas and graduated in 1984 with a B.A. in American Studies. Always wanting to be an attorney, Kermit set out to Baylor University School of Law in Waco, Texas and earned his J.D. in 1986. He was a member of Phi Alpha Delta at Baylor University School of Law.

Kermit Hill's admissions include State Bar of Texas, 1987, U.S. District Court Eastern District of Texas, 1987, U.S. District Court Northern District of Texas, 1987, U.S. Court of Appeals 5th Circut, 1987, and the U.S. Supreme Court, 1996. Kermit's honors and accreditations include but are not limited to Top Lawyers in Texas, Texas Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America - Family Law and Family Law Mediation, and Board Certification in Family Law, Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
John Hill has a deep understanding of his community and a passion for serving those around him which encourages him to be an active participant in his community. Kermit has served on the Board of Trinity Lighthouse Church in Denison, Texas, the Board of Texoma Area Red Cross in Denison, Texas as chairman for two years, the Board of Masterkey Ministries in Sherman, Texas, and was the President of the Grayson County Bar for two terms.
